Spavao sam uz prekide. Tijekom jednog od mojih kratkih snova, začuo sam krik. Bio je razvučen poput onih koje ispuštaju pijanci: “Ah, živote, zašto me ne napustiš!”
Brzo sam se uspravio jer sam ga začuo skoro u blizini ušiju; vjerojatno je dopirao s ulice, ali ja sam ga čuo ovdje. Činilo se da su njime natopljeni zidovi moje sobe. Kad sam se probudio, vladao je muk; čulo se samo kako pada prašina koju su stvarali crvi grizući drvo, i žubor tišine.
Ne, nije bilo moguće procijeniti dubinu muka koji je izazvao taj krik. Izgledalo je da je na zemlji nestao sav zrak. Nije bilo nikakva zvuka; ni daha ni otkucaja srca; kao da je zastao i sâm šum savjesti.
“The cruise is about the searching for everything worth-while in existence. I mean, I will appreciate the beauty of a flower, and then, likewise, I will stand exhibitionistic and have the flower appreciate the beauty of me. Well, that’s how I feel about cruisin’ right now. And I would say having a ‘intimate love affair’ with a flower is far more psychotic and riveting then having an ‘intimate love affair’ with some of the banal creatures of the human race. Although, I’d be in to that too!”
I had a dream. In fact, it was the night I met you. In the dream, there was our world, and the world was dark because there weren’t any robins and the robins represented love. And for the longest time, there was just this darkness. And all of a sudden, thousands of robins were set free, and they flew down and brought this blinding light of love. And it seemed like that love would be the only thing that would make any difference. And it did. So, I guess it means there is trouble ’til the robins come.
