Biomehaničke vizije H.R. Gigera
“Some people say my work is often depressing and pessimistic, with the emphasis on death, blood, overcrowding, strange beings and so on, but I don’t really think it is.”
U današnjoj emisiji pričamo o poznatom švicarskom umjetniku H.R. Gigeru. Najviše je poznat po svom zborniku radova Necronomicon (1977.) i po svom dizajnu stvorenja ksenomorfa u filmu Alien (1979.) Ridleya Scotta.
Njegova djela su ikonična i definiraju sam pojam znanstveno-fantastičnog horora. Njegov jedinstven i košmaran stil je bio poznat kao fantastični realizam ili češće kao biomehanički. U njegovom radu, ljudi i ostali organski oblici su transformirani pomoću strojeva, nudeći tako uznemirujuće vizije budućnosti u kojoj su granice čovječanstva poremećene tehnološkim napretkom.
