Black Classical Music, svakako masivno izdanje sa svojih 19 stvari i skoro sat i dvadeset trajanja, besramno demonstrira znanje i kreativnost poprilično mladog momka koji je već sada jedna od glavnih snaga vjerojatno trenutno najuzbudljvije jazz scene južnog Londona. Znamo ga već iz izvrsne suradnje sa Kamaal Williams-om u projektu Yussef Kamaal, sa Tom Misch-om s albumom “What Kinda Music” iz 2020. ali i kroz projekt United Vibrations.

Yussef je do koljena u jazz-u od rane mladosti i nema boljeg načina za uvod u ovaj album od riječi samog autora:

Continuing a lineage of Miles Davis, Rahssan Roland kirk, Nina Simone, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong ~ music that is forever evolving & limitless in its potential. The groove, it’s feeling, the compositions, the spontaneity, with a love for family, the discipline & dedication in maintaining the very high bar set by the pantheon of Black Classical Musicians. Chasing the rhythm of drums that imitated one’s heartbeat, the melodies for the mind and spirit, the bass for the core. A Regal sound for this body of music.
